Firms should 'maintain sales and marketing budgets'

The British Chamber of Commerce cautions companies should work on their business plans and concentrate on sales and marketing, which could be good news for those looking for sales executive jobs.

John Dunsmure, managing director at the organisation, says customer service should also be focused on, if firms want to keep hold of their clients.

"This is not the time cut back on your sales and marketing, but to really focus on it. Look at your business plan, identify whether you are on the right track or not." he adds.

Mr Dunsmure states that if change is needed companies should go ahead cautiously and should be sure they are implementing the right measures.

People looking for sales executive jobs have recently been advised to tailor their CV to each application and use keywords effectively to make the document stand out.

David Hurst, managing director of job website Onrec.com, said such methods will improve an applicant's chance of gaining sales jobs.
